UKTheatreSchool - Performing Arts Academy NOT a drama club

UKTheatreSchool - Performing Arts Academy NOT a drama club
Many young people may be looking of a Drama Club rather than a theatre school or performing arts academy.
There is nothing wrong with Drama Clubs infact we understand that they are sometimes the first step for young people looking to go and socialise and have fun. They normally have good acting games and stimulus for children and teenagers to enjoy while helping boost their confidence. Some clubs also have permission granted to put on some shows and again the skills learned during the rehearsals and performance periods can be invaluable to the young person progressing to the next step in performing arts.
UKTheatreSchool Performing Arts Academy is definitely NOT a drama club however; it can be used by young people to help boost their confidence while learning within a structured curriculum that will teach them the skills required to perform well.
There are usually around four types of student at UKTheatreSchool:
Students - Type One
1.
Students who successfully come through the audition process who show great promise and have the correct attitude, passion and commitment. With this and the correct guidance they are likely to be able to pursue a career in performing arts. These students usually want to take part in all or most of UKTheatreSchool’s performances and events. These same students would normally take part in extra classes depending on the path they wish to follow however; almost all of these students try to become ‘all rounders’ or ‘triple threats’ increasing their chances of success in the performing arts industry. Many of our graduates within this category have already gone on to top performance arts academies in Scotland, England, Europe and USA as well as gone on to frequent work in theatre, film and television.
Students - Type Two
2.
Students who successfully come through the audition process who show potential and with the correct attitude and hard work they could be successful once leaving theatre school. Again, many of the students within this category who have worked hard showing commitment and determination have gone on to top performing arts academies in Scotland, England & Europe and again have also worked in theatre, film and television.
Students - Type Three
3.
Students who want to join as a hobby. This type of student may show they are talented in performing arts however; they do not wish to follow this type of career path. This type of student will still follow a structured curriculum in all three disciplines and will have the benefit of leaning life skills, working on confidence and being invited in events and performances where they wish. On average around 40% of these students progress to Type 2 and eventually look to purse a career in performing arts.
Students - Type Four
4.
Students who are very much beginner level and they or their parents are hoping to boost their confidence within a structured environment. Some beginners are hoping to learn enough to take them on to the next level and hopefully progress to performance level and above. These types of students can prove to be very rewarding to our staff when they are seen to go from perhaps a shy or quiet person to a performer and entertainer on stage. Many of these types of students go on to perform in our shows.
