UKTheatreSchool - RAD Ballet
UKTheatreSchool believe ballet is at the core of all dance movement and is an excellent discipline for all students wishing to pursue a career in performing arts. Students can progress gaining a complete understanding of movement and dance technique which will help them progress to performing arts colleges etc.
Our Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet Classes are taught and led by our resident registered RAD Ballet Teacher Ms Laura Geddes along with RAD teacher Ms Hayley Mitchell and assisted by RAD trainees Ms Sharon Watson and Ms Kim Smythe.
UKTheatreSchool follows the RAD Ballet syllabus. All students are encouraged to be involved in either basic RAD Ballet technique classes or for the more advanced student they are invited to take RAD Graded exams however; students can chose to opt out of ballet while following our mainstream of Acting, Singing and Dance. Nevertheless; students wishing to follow a career into the arts are expected to do the correct RAD Ballet training.
Taking RAD exams or Presentation classes is a way for students to attain personal goals and gain a sense of achievement in the process.
The RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) is the world's largest classical ballet examining body, and recognised in over 30 different countries worldwide. The examination is a qualification accredited by the QCA (The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority).

Students are welcome to pay for a taster class to assess whether they want to follow the RAD course work and for our teachers to assess their level. Following the first taster class and once placement has been confirmed; all classes within the ten week block must be paid for in advance. Each taster class will cost £5.00.
Parents are welcome to wait in our comfortable warm reception while their child takes a class. Parents are not permitted to wait inside a studio while a class is taking place. We have found this to be both distracting for the child and the other students. We hope parents will understand this and co-operate fully.
Please note: Private lessons also available at £15 per 45 minute lesson. Please ask for details.
RAD Uniform
Pupils are expected to wear the regulation RAD uniform or a suitable alternative for both the Exam and Presentation Classes. Students failing to wear the correct uniform after two weeks of joining the class will not be permitted entry to lessons. Uniforms are worn and hair is tied neatly in a clean bun as part of the RAD regulations.
This notice is without exception.
